Kat Howard earned a BA in Creative Writing from Brandeis University in 2006, and worked at the Whitney Museum of American Art until 2010, when she left the museum world to pursue MFAs in Studio Art and Poetry, which she received from Mills College in 2013. Since graduating, Kat has been working as a fiber artist exhibiting her art, which addresses how women have been treated through out history, such as her series about women being persecuted as witches. Kat lives and works in Kingston, New York.

Jessica & Matt from the idea garden
Jessica Meyer and Matt Taylor opened the idea garden in February 2019 after a 2 year renovation, and long time dream! The idea garden is a place to cultivate collaborations towards positive community action, hold events and workshops, and share socially engaged art.
Matt is a web developer who enjoys bicycling around Kingston, playing with SketchUp, and concentrates on the artistic side of the idea garden. Jess is a leadership consultant and executive coach who loves to knit, sew, and incorporate upcycling into her crafts. Jess focuses on the strategy and operational sides of the business. Maggie the gallery dog provides warmth and love and accepts belly rubs from all willing visitors.
