This hand woven wall hanging is designed to emulate approaching rain clouds over Illinois wheat fields, and elicit that feeling of lightness when the pressure breaks and the storm begins.
It was made with a combination of natural and recycled fibers including: wool, alpaca, mohair, jute rope, linen, mohair locks, and sari silk. Each mohair thread of the rain descending from the clouds, was individually hand-knotted on to the tapestry. It is hanging on a hand-sanded oak dowel, suspended by a piece of deerskin leather.
